Tour Features

Pearl Harbor Visitor Center

We'll take you to historic Pearl Harbor, but because the harbor and Ford Island are quite expansive, we will only visit the areas designated as a "national memorial".

Contained within the expanse of the naval base are the "Road to War" and "Attack" museums located at the Visitor Center, the Submarine Museum, Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, and the Battleship Missouri. Your driver will bring you to the Visitor Center and provide tickets to board the boat to the Arizona Memorial at a specific time. Before and after that time, you will have time to explore the visitor center's two museums.

USS Arizona Memorial

A visit to the Arizona Memorial is a solemn occasion. This is the final resting place for over 1000 souls. Most of them died on the day of the attack. The Japanese launched a surprise attack on the ships at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, causing catastrophic damage, including the destruction of Battleship Arizona. A bomb penetrated its decks and ignited it from within.

USS Missouri Battleship

The "Mighty MO" served the United States from World War 2 until being retired after the First Gulf War. It was one of the first ships to fire missiles in that engagement. It is now a museum ship, and most of it is open for exploration. Check out the many decks, internal spaces, and lots of exhibits with a ton of historical information. You can even stand in the spot where the war-ending ceremony took place.

National Memorial Cemetery Of The Pacific At Punchbowl

As we tour through the city, we'll take a drive up into Punchbowl Crater. The drive is very special because it is home to the National Cemetery of the Pacific and other special points of interest. The view from up here is wonderful as you can clearly see down to historic Honolulu, Diamond Head crater and beyond.

Historic Downtown Honolulu

Our final, major point of interest is a drive through historic downtown Honolulu. It contains the only royal palace in the United States. It even had electricity before the White House did. We'll also see some unique buildings, and the historical King Kamehameha statue. Then, we will return you back to your accommodations in Waikīkī to enjoy the rest of your evening.

What you can expect

Every visit to Oahu should include a trip to see the Arizona Memorial and Battleship Missouri at Pearl Harbor. These two sites are the "book ends" of the US involvement in World War Two.

We'll pick you up with our bus, motorcoach, or open-air trolley, at one of several central locations in Waikīkī and bring you to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. From there, you can explore the museums before heading across the harbor on a Navy boat for a solemn visit to the Arizona Memorial. The Memorial's stark white structure straddles the remains of the Arizona that was destroyed during the attack.

After returning from the Memorial, we take a short drive to the Battleship Missouri. You are free to explore the ship and its many decks. Go inside and check out many of the interesting exhibits, films, and more. See the spot where a kamikaze attack damaged the ship in the final days of the war.

Afterward, we will take a drive through historic downtown Honolulu before dropping you back to your Waikiki hotel.

If you’re staying on an outer island (Maui, Big Island, or Kaua'i) don’t miss an opportunity to visit historic Pearl Harbor on our inter-island group tours

The Important Things to Know

Our large-group tours are run in our motor coaches with 25+ people in comfortable seats and space. On beautiful days, we may even use our open-air trolley. We start with pickup in Waikīkī at six central locations that are convenient for most accommodations in the neighborhood.

Your driver will transport you through Honolulu to Pearl Harbor, where you will spend almost 4.5 hours exploring the area's attractions. The driver will stay with the vehicle for most of the tour and provide expert narration during the driving portions of the experience. (They will not accompany the group through the museums or at most stops.)

The first stop is the Visitor Center, where you can interact with various museum exhibits before entering the theatre to watch a documentary. After the film, a Navy launch will take you on a short boat tour to the Arizona Memorial. You will have about 15 minutes to enjoy the view and pay your respects. You will see the USS Missouri, which is the next stop on our tour, nearby, along Battleship Row.

Battleship Missouri, a floating museum, marked the war's end on its famous Surrender Deck. Here, the articles that ended the war with Japan were signed while the ship was anchored in Tokyo Bay in August 1945. You can explore the inside of the "Mighty Mo's" multiple decks, galleys, rooms, and guns. You can quickly get a feel for what it must have been like for the nearly 2000 men living on board during the war.

Afterward, we head out from the harbor for a great view of the city from Punchbowl. We drive through the Cemetery of the Pacific on our way to our final stop in downtown Honolulu to check out the King Kamehameha Statue and other nearby historic buildings.

After a wonderful 7 hours, we return you to your hotel and condo. Throughout the tour, food is available on the dock and at the Visitor Center.

  • Dress comfortably. High heels, dresses and skirts not recommended. Bug and insect repellant recommended.
  • Although there is no formal dress code for visiting the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, we kindly request that visitors dress in a manner that is both appropriate and respectful. Swimsuits are not permitted. Additionally, high heels, skirts, and dresses are discouraged due to the presence of numerous stairs and strong trade winds. While flip-flops and sandals are allowed, we recommend wearing closed-toe shoes as there is considerable walking involved when exploring the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.

We advise booking your Pearl Harbor tours prior to your arrival in Hawai'i. As Pearl Harbor is the top visitor destination, certain days of the week may see tours sell out. It is advisable to schedule your tour for the first or second full day following your arrival. Many guests tend to wake up early in the morning because of the time difference, ensuring that you are alert by the time your tour commences. Your tour guide will highlight key attractions that should not be overlooked in O'ahu.

We strive to provide inclusive and accessible tours for all our guests and will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate any request. If anyone in your party may need additional services or accommodations (wheelchair, scooter, walker, etc.) please let us know at the time of your booking.
